Position Title: Little Rebel Preschool Assistant

Department: High School

Reports To: Principal

 

Summary: The Preschool Assistant supports the daily operation of Little Rebel Preschool located in South Newton High School by assisting the lead teacher and high school students in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. This position helps model developmentally appropriate practices while supporting hands-on learning experiences for high school students enrolled in the Education Professions pathway and Hospitality Management pathway.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

 

Qualifications Requirements: 

 

Education and/or Experience:  High School diploma or equivalent preferred.  Successfully passing the ParaPro test or 60 college hours. 

 

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general information.  Ability to fill out reports on Brightwheel.  Ability to speak using grammatically correct English.

 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to understand basic math and record data.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with students in a variety of situations, such as recess and classrooms.

 

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents; skill in oral and written communication.
